Scarborough  Fair

(Intro).

1 Are you going to Scarborough Fair
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine.

2 Tell her to find me an acre of land
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Between the water and the sea strand
Then she'll be a true love of mine.

(Pasaje intermedio I).

3 Time is eternal and life is forever
Feel the breeze and clouds passing by
Into your soul there’s no trail of sorrow
No more tears, no more regret…, no more regret…,
no more regret.

(Pasaje intermedio II)
.
4 Are you going to Scarborough Fair
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine…, a true love of mine…,
a true love of mine.

PROJECT  GUIDELINES
1)    Work on the vocabulary and the pronunciation in English classes.
2) Watch to “21 Versions of Scarborough Fair” in Youtube. Analyze the remarkable aspects of the song (style, history, use of English, and so on).
3)  Do some research (but not in depth) on the song, about some of the musicians of the 21 versions, etc.
4) Work on the musical structure and the parallelism with the English structure (matching, length, syllables, accents, and so on).
5) All members of the class will sing along the song together with the music teacher, who will play the acoustic guitar, step by step.
6) Write down new third and fourth stanzas in order to fit in with the musical structure. Each teacher (English and music) will evaluate their corresponding items.
7) After some weeks of singing the song, practicing around 20 minutes each week, the song will be evaluated with a performance that could be recorded (image and sound). Issues related to both English and music will be under evaluation.

DEADLINE: around 10th December.

Wish You Were Here

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from hell
Blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found
The same old fears
Wish you were here.
